What are values? Our definition

Values are preferences and priorities. We enable you to determine the preferences and measure the priority.

Since beginning our work in 1994, we have identified a set of underlying principles that have emerged from our insights into the influence values have on people, engagement, performance and profit.

We use these principles to guide both ourselves and our clients in building a robust, measurable and effective values aligned culture.

  • Every organisation operates on values whether it realises it or not
  • Organisations do not put their values into practice, people do
  • People (including the leaders) will only put the organisations values into practice when their personal values are in alignment with those of the organisation
  • Values Aligned Organisations have been shown to be more profitable, over time, than organisations with misaligned values
  • Personal values will always dominate the values of the organisation, therefore personal values drive organisational performance
  • Decisions are based more on values than rational analysis
  • Values are the DNA of all organisations' culture, they determine what happens and why
  • Culture is eight times more influential than strategy
